In light of the continuing COVID-19
pandemic and its likely impact on travel restrictions and physical distancing requirements well into 2021, the board of the Association of Embryo Technology in
Europe has taken the difficult decision to cancel the physicalannual AETE conference in
Dublin and instead provide this year a complete new online AETE
experience.
Because there is a continuous need to update scientific and practical knowledge and because a lot of highly relevant research has
appeared during the past year, the AETE board has decided to organize a series of five webinars on the latest
developments in embryo technologies. These 1.5 hour webinars will be running between June
and October. Three webinars may comprise one interactive lecture followed by live discussion with the audience. In September, we will hold two
webinars that focus on short oral presentations, selected from the submitted abstracts in
spring. So, even though there is no physical meeting, we still invite you to summarize your interesting research results and submit an abstract
(deadline May 1st; instructions for abstract submission will follow). All peer
reviewed and accepted abstracts will be published online in our AETE webinar proceedings.
Many of you joined the AETE for its first virtual congress in September 2020, and the AETE will once again adapt the participant
experience to the online world in order to offer the AETE community the opportunity for educational exchanges, scientific news and best practice
updates, while protecting the safety and well-being of all participants.
AETE Virtual 2021 will allow for even more live interaction during each webinar, as well as facilitating contact with our
sponsors and European institutions and bodies that regularly work together with the AETE for scientific collaborations and projects. In this context, the AETE
is reaching out to national embryo transfer societies all over Europe to stimulate their members to participate. The AETE webinars
which will be free and open to everybody who subscribed. We further invite national societies to apply to join us in hosting one of our AETE
webinars. Please get in contact with us at info@aete.eu.
With no travel plans to consider and the flexibility to fit sessions around your professional and personal obligations, accessing
all the scheduled webinars in their live formats through our dedicated platform will be more convenient than ever. The webinars form your
opportunity to stay up to date on the latest developments in the field of embryo technologies.
Join us in this new virtual experience andkeep an eye on the new programme
announcements in the coming weeks. Keep checking back at aete.eu for further announcements.
Stay safe and healthy.
